HUB Introduction

What we do

Auquin has set out to become the convenient single source solution for authentication of Precious Metals and any other valuable object related to the bullion space, including coins. Our goal is to simplify the authentication process by analyzing any precious metal piece and determining how it can be authenticated with any of the existing solutions that are publicly available.

Impressed yet?

Okay… we are doing this even for precious metal pieces of organizations that we do not have a business relationship with. "You're welcome!" Practically speaking there are three situations that are applicable when evaluating the authentication of precious metals with known security features.

1

The security feature is obvious (covert) and the observer is familiar with the steps on how to further authenticate.

2

While the security feature might be obvious to the observer, it is unclear if there is a next step for authentication.

3

The security feature is integrated in a matter unknown to the observer, authentication is not possible.

In any of these circumstances Auquin will be able to assist and help guide to authenticate when possible.

Why it Works

Computer-vision technology

Our sophisticated Auquin Lens is powered by Google's AI powerhouse computer-vision tech.
We know: sounds fancy... and expensive but it is not just Google doing all the heavy lifting, Auquin has an incredible track record of analyzing precious metals, it knows what to look for and what to ignore.

It's our business to know!

This is probably why you are reading this, you have used single-authentication solutions and what good did it do when you were jumping between pieces? Right! So here we are, Auquin will likely help guide you, when new authentication features are added even for a brand new refiner or manufacturer, Auquin will pick up the metal's distinctive features and leverage Google's AI to satisfy all your authentication needs.

What to Expect

Quick and conclusive

When one uses the Auquin app it will guide you when possible to the quickest solution to obtain a satisfactory authentication, this can be either an immediate in-app resolution, a forward to an embedded solution with an Auquin partner, a direct link to download a specialized app that is associated with the security feature, or a conclusive message that indicates that a security feature is unknown or not available.

While we further grow and strengthen our relationship with our valued partners you will be able to use their proprietary app to authenticate precious metals that are not produced or managed by this partner. In such a specific case you will find the Auquin Hub mark [stylized H] in the app's viewfinder.

Instant availability via the Auquin PWA

As an end-user we do not expect you to download an app, all the technology is directly and securely at your disposal as a progressive web app (PWA) which will seamlessly work on both your iPhone and Android devices.

Who benefits from it

Auquin's centralized approach

With multiple refiners and mints having invested heavily in the development of their own proprietary anti-counterfeiting authentication technologies "Security Features" for gold bar integrity, Auquin identified the need to unify the precious metals industry's authentication efforts and interoperability demands and thus positioned itself to become the universal "hub" whereby it approaches the market in such a way that it can take advantage of refiners' and mints' respective anti-counterfeiting technologies while addressing the global bullion market's desire to create 'The Gold Standard' for gold bar integrity.

From collectors to vault managers

Auquin's patent pending authentication and assessment process utilizes and integrates refiners' and mints' security measures and when combined with Auquin's platform agnostic approach it seamlessly addresses the practical and logistical challenges that individual collectors and institutional refiners, mints and vault managers alike will face with multiple anti-counterfeiting solutions simultaneously being deployed and utilized in the bullion market. Consequently this requires a universal Security Feature scanner/reader "interpreter application" which will promote, enable and establish a global standard sought for homogenized authentication across multiple proprietary anti-counterfeiting solutions.

Auquin's approach to the bullion market's structure is one of inclusion versus that of exclusion and we believe this centralized approach will serve to unite the members of the LBMA and bullion industry as a whole and set industry standard(s) for gold bar integrity which ensure the highest levels of security, transparency and trust in the global bullion market.

Navigating the Authentication Landscape: LBMA's Stance on Diverse Precious Metal Identification Solutions

In the precious metals market, authentication is paramount. The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), a global authority in the gold market, has been navigating the complexities of providing guidance on authentication systems for precious metals, predominantly gold. Contrary to the initial understanding of a unified authentication system, the LBMA is, in fact, embracing the existence of multiple disparate solutions within the market. .
